Mycelium of Humans #1

Fold-out map (diagram on paper) | current size: 900 x 120 cm | since 2017, ongoing project

The fold-out map is showing ancestral connections between myself and over 2000 other people. At the moment they reach over twenty-four generations and go back to the so far first born ancestor in the early fourteenth century. These people lived in Germany, East Prussia, Austria, the Netherlands, the USA, Schwitzerland, France, England and Belgium.
As all humans have the same descent, all of them are kinsmanlike connected with each other. The diagram shows a tiny section of this mycelium of humans.

The diagram also serves as a construction plan for the installation „Human Fabric #1“ where these connections are transformed into a sculpture.
